International Angelman Day (IAD) is observed annually on the 15th February, primarily to raise awareness worldwide for Angelman syndrome. The date selected is in recognition of the 15th chromosome affected, and February is international Rare Disease month.

The Purpose of International Angelman Day is to:

• Raise awareness worldwide of the condition.
• Mobilise people to action & encourage fundraising for the individual organisation in their country.
• Promote research and educational resources in the organisation’s own country.
• Remember those people with Angelman Syndrome who are no longer with us.

To celebrate this day we are asking that friends and family share this page and request a donation of $15 or more to allow FAST Australia to do this, every day!

FAST US is leading the efforts to develop effective treatments for Angelman syndrome. FAST funds multiple programs aimed at developing therapeutics to treat the root cause of Angelman syndrome as well as therapeutics that may treat certain symptoms. In Australia, FAST funds the Global Angelman Syndrome Registry, the largest collection of information of Angelman syndrome data in the world, a very powerful tool in the development, assessment, and ultimate accessibility of therapeutics for Angelman syndrome. We are also working tirelessly to ensure promising clinical trials and the very best standard of care can be accessed by Australian families, in Australia.  In fact, FAST Australia is the only funder of Angelman-specific research in this country and they rely on grassroots donors like me & you to support these groundbreaking programs.
